Examining Board of Natural Medicine seeks to create a greater awareness of professionalism, ethics, study, and educational standards in order to present a group of Specialists and General Practitioners in the field of TM/CAM-Naturotherapy, who have met the required standard of practice to satisfy the growing need for an ever-increasing, well-rounded health care system.

​Public confidence and safety are our prime concern hence we can assure the public that all our members have met the educational, ethical and qualifying standards of a registering body to which they are accountable.

The Examining Board of Natural Medicine does not represent any one type of Natural Healthcare Professional; we are a multidisciplinary group whose members are Traditional and Complementary Alternative Medicine Practitioners, comprised of Natural Medicine Practitioners, Naturotherapist, Holistic Homeopaths, Acupuncturists, Manual Osteopaths, Ayurveda Vaidyas and General Practitioners of Natural Healing; as well as Regulated Healthcare professionals who make use of non-legislated healthcare treatment, as a complement to their practice. For example: Chiropractors, Medical Doctors, Dentists, Osteopaths, Orthomolecular Practitioners, and Nurse practitioners, Physiotherapists, includes but is not limited to Traditional Naturopaths and Homeopaths.

Individuals interested in becoming registered may be required to pass qualifying examinations prior to registration and must agree to abide by the Scope of Practice and Code of Professional Ethics and Conduct.
Certificates issued remain the property of the Examining Board of Natural Medicine & EBNMP LLC and must be surrendered when registration ceases, when membership is not renewed, or at the request of the disciplinary committee.

How to Apply

Payment can be made by cheque payable to EBNMP, Credit card, or E-transfer.

Incomplete or illegible applications will be returned.

An email address, as well as a home address, MUST be provided.

You must include copies of all relevant certificates/diplomas and/or curriculum vitae, as well as an official transcript from the graduating Institution

If your documents are not in English or French, you must provide an officially translated version and a copy of the original attached.

Provide proof of current Professional Liability (Errors and Omissions) Insurance.

Natural Medicine Practitioners© who are Doctors of other regulated health care professions must show proof of license to practice in their primary field.

Examinations & Testing Format
The Examining Board of Natural Medicine has provided challenge examinations for practitioners wishing to show proficiency within the Diplomate or General Levels of Practice. and Scope of Practice. No other organization is sanctioned.
​
As the practice of Natural Medicine, to include TM/CAM-Naturotherapy, moves towards regulation in Canada, these Entry-to-Practice Competencies exams will become a mandatory component for registration. The Registrar will notify members as necessary. Entry-to-Practice Competencies exams consist of Multiple-Choice questions. A study guide will be provided and may be freely referenced. Practitioners are encouraged to study the handbook on their own or with peers in small study groups to prepare for the exams.

Continuing Competency Education (CCE)
All members are required to complete yearly upgrading training and assessment of competency to guarantee public safety. These measures are mandatory in order to maintain the high quality of professional standards that are required for the profession.
TM/CAM-Naturotherapy, with its practice of Natural Medicine, is the largest growing industry in the world, and practitioners must continually enhance and expand their knowledge and skills.

CCE for Diplomate Level Education - 60 hours.

CCE for General Level Education Practitioners - 40 hours.

CCE for Probationary Practitioners – 20 hours.
Hours may be accumulated as follows:
(verification is required: verification of research related to the advancement of any Natural Medicine modality should include the type of research being conducted, purpose and summary of research, dates of participation, and disclosure of any fiduciary relationships).

Practice building / self-growth activities

Proprietary programs, which promote exclusive services and/or products

Authoring of an article/book related to Natural Medicine

Research in the advancement of any Natural Medicine modality

Please note: Verification of traditional or nontraditional methods include copies of certificates or diplomas; proof of payment or attendance; completed checklist containing dates/hours/titles of books reviewed, video/audio/internet presentation. In the case of facilitating lectures, please include a copy of the brochure or handouts that confirm you as being listed as a presenter.

If you are not currently a member or your membership has expired, your account may identify you as a “Non-member” with a file on our registry of Certified Practitioners. Member with this status will still need to renew or “upgrade” to one of the membership categories.
​
The EBNM offers several types of memberships, all with unique benefits. Membership rates include a full year, with Expiration/renewal date on or by March 30 of each succeeding year. All EBNM members agree to comply with EBNM Bylaws and pay their dues.

Renewals 2025
Dear Members:
On behalf of your board of directors and Registrar, we wish all our members a positive year ahead. The Examining Board of Natural Medicine is now recognized as a Non-Legislated Healthcare Association, that continues to advocate for our members. We continue to serve our members by adherence to the standards of the World Health Organization's Benchmarks for Training in TM/CAM - Naturotherapy, Acupuncture, Ayurveda and Natural Medicine.
Eligibility to be Board Certified and affiliate with a Non-Legislated Healthcare Association requires a candidate’s submission to show proof of educational status at Diplomate Level or Naturotherapy Level, which must include Clinical Mentorship as well as a member must complete yearly continuing competency requirements and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Ethics as outlined by E.B.N.M.

The renewal fee for Diplomate Level DNM® and DIM© is $500.00.
RAP® and RNP® Naturotherapy level is $300.00.
Members who joined after July 2024 are only required to pay half of the yearly fee.
Please remember to include your CEUs and Insurance renewal.
