Registered Naturotherapy Practitioner®
A multidisciplinary group of practitioners who use make use of natural healing agents and therapies in the treatment of health conditions and must be under the guidance of a DNM® or other regulated health professional.
Scope of Practice:
The promotion of health and wellness as prescribed by a regulated health professional (ND, DC) or DNM®. RNP® may be referred to as Complimentary Alternative Medicine (CAM) practitioners.
- Nutrition - the use of specific diets and nutritional supplements to prevent disease or re-establish the body chemistry.
- Botanical and Herbal Remedies - used for their balancing and nutritional value.
- Physical Therapy - Exercises, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, ultrasound and heat and cold therapy.
- Lifestyle & Stress Management - Education to the client on nutritional balancing, stress management as well as environmental factors that affect their health.
Educational requirements:
The successful completion of at least 2000 hours of post secondary study from an accredited college in Nutrition, Botanical and Herbal Remedies, Physical Therapy and Lifestyle & Stress Management.
