The Examining Board of Natural Medicine Practitioners was established in 1998 as per World Health Organization Alma-Ata 1962 declaration

Natural Medicine:

The practice of Natural Medicine is the promotion of health, the assessment of emotional, mental and physical state and the resultant Natural Medicine therapeutic techniques to improve emotional and adaptive function.

Natural Medicine Doctors:

Natural Medicine Doctors are Health Care Professionals who are trained in the combined use of safe, gentle non-invasive therapies such as Nutritional Medicine, Botanical Medicine, Homeopathic Medicine, Acupuncture & Manual Medicine. These medicines and therapies are aimed at enhancing the body’s self healing ability to regain and maintain optimum health.

A DNM^® is one who practices (teaches) a system of medicine in which only natural substances and techniques are used, including but not limited to nutritional and dietary therapeutics; phytotherapy  (botanical / herbal remedies) and vegetable minerals; electrotherapy, as a natural environmental force; Mechanical therapy (massage, manipulation etc); remedial exercises, mineral therapy and biochemical therapy (the use of natural minerals and cell salts) hydrotherapies in all forms and homeotherapeutics (a dynamic use of mineral and plant extracts)

The core philosophy of the Natural Medicine Doctor is the prevention of disease and the stimulation of the natural healing processes of the body to re-establish homeostasis when the body is in a state of dis-equilibrium.
